These transformations are highly responsible of the physical and minerałogical properties of the fmished products. The TG/dTG curves of coal wastes and shales are illustrated in Figurę 7.6. The loss on ignition of coal wastes and shales is basically explained by; (i) the loss of hygroscopic and crystal water (0-200°C), (ii) the water dihydroxylation and organie matter (mainly coal) decomposition (425-680°C), and finally (iii) the decomposition of carbonates minerals. The weight loss values achieved by TGA analysis are in good agreement with LOI results; 12.5, 8.75 and 6.45 wt.% were obtained respectively for CMWR, TCMT, and ShB samples (Table 7.2).
