Tutorial for the I8000 Omnia II
Be sure to have a backup of the data on your phone!
Flashing a phone is a tricky business so be sure to know the risks!
NOTE: ONLY WORKS ON WINDOWS XP
What do you need for installation:
·ð The desired firmware
·ð The OCTANS Downloader v1.91 application
·ð The Samsung I8000 USB-cable
·ð The I8000 Omnia II
Preparation: 1) Firmware Link FW-List G-I-J-L-M
2) Samsung CDMA Modem v4.34 (Driver) Driver voor de I8000
3) OCTANS Downloader v1.91 Flashprogramma
4) Quikpar Unrar programma
Make sure that you have install:
Microsoft Active Sync v4.5
Flashing: 1 - Open the OCTANS Downloader
2 - Extract the firmware onto your desktop (you should end up with 4 files)
3 - Fill in the following details in the OCTANS Downloader
- Eboot: eboot_i8000xxih5_hw_40.eb0
- MultiCSC: csc_i8000famih4.csc
- MoviNAND: pda_i8000xxih5_hw_40.mst
- Phone: phone_i8000dxih2_rev_04.bin
4 - Select the your langauge
5 - Connect your phone (in Active Sync mode) to your pc
6 - Click on Detect in the OCTANS Downloader
7 - Turn your phone off, but do not disconnect the USB cable
8 - If everything work out, your phone should restart in Flash mode
9 - Click "Start Downloading"
10 - Follow the process on your pc and phone. Do not break the connection!
Follow these firmware steps on your Windows XP PC.
Be wise and remove your SIM card and your SD card before updating.
