Confirmation Testing



Apply the base of the Kinesio Tex to
the radial side of the first metacarpal.



Extend and abduct the thumb to place
the tissue under tension.



Peel the Kinesio Tex from the paper
liner and place the tape temporarily
on the skin. Do not activate the glue
by rubbing.



Stabilize the base of the Kinesio Tex
and rotate the thumb in the direction
of abduction and extension to
increase tissue tension.



Apply the mid-portion of the lateral “y”
tail to the trapezium at the base of the
first metacarpal and the floor of the
anatomic snuff box.



Apply the end of the lateral “y” tail to
the base of the thenar eminence.



Apply the medial “y” tail along the
distal border of the thenar eminence.
