Panels Main Switchgear And Distribution Boards

• Verify correct rating for P.S C.C of the both incoming and outgoing fuses, MCCBS, etc.

• Inspect for signs of overheating

• Presence of phase barriers and shrouds

• Presence of labels

• Check connections for tightness

• Is access to switchgear impeded

• Are the duties of the circuits marked up

• Verify the neutral connections are in the same order as the phase conductors

• Check operation of switches

• Check operation of rcd units on test button

• Check for damage or holes in casing

• Are necessary warning labels in position

• Verify earth loop impedance values

• Carry out insulation testing

Trunking System

• Verify the number of cables enclosed does not exceed the spacing factor

• Verify the segregation of cables contained in the trunking is correct.

• Verify the earth continuity of the trunking

• Verify the presence of phase barriers

• Check for damage and holes

• Check trunking is correctly supported

• Check for missing lid

• Check for incorrect jointing of cabled within trunking

Conduit System

• Verify the earth continuity

• Check for loose fittings

• Verify the spacing factor of the cables has not been exceeded

• Check for damage

Accessories

• Check for signs of overheating

• Check for broken or damaged accessories

• Check if cables have been terminated correctly

• Verify earth loop impedance values

Lighting

• Check for broken fittings

• Verify earth loop impedance values

• Are the lighting fittings correctly supported

• Check for signs of overheating

• Check for missing or faulty lamps or tubes

Emergency Lighting

• Verify the operation of the emergency lighting over the relevant time period

• Check the condition of the central battery unit

• Verify the emergency lighting is connected to the correct circuits zones

• Check for presence of test switches

• Check for presence of testing record sheets

• Check for damaged fittings

Sub Main Cables

• Verify the cables are correctly supported

• Check for damage to cables

• Check for incorrect terminations

Extension Leads And Portable Appliances

• Check for presence of testing labels

• Carry out testing if applicable

Site Documentation

• Check for presence of main switchgear location plan

• Check for presence of schematic plan
