Speaker 1

I love my job. As a teenager, I used to read a lot of Sherlock Holmes stories. I was really fascinated. Now I know that life is morę complicated than the fiction I read as a teenager. But I really love what I do. I feel satisfied and happy when I manage to solve a murder mystery or arrest a very dangerous criminal. My wife complains that l'm seldom home, but such is life.

Speaker 2

At first, I thought about studying biology and becoming a teacher. I really enjoyed studying biology and chemistry. I imagined myself being my futurę students'partner, helping them discover the mysteries of naturę. But eventually I chose to be somebody who helps people who suffer, who need proper ireatment. Especially the smali ones, who can't talk yet... Examining them, talking to their parents, choosing the best possible treatment -this is my passion.

Tl: Hello, how can I help you?

Woman: Hello, I need your advice. I'd like to take my children somewhere this weekend. My son, who is 10, loves musie, and my daughter, who is 8, loves fireworks. Do you know a good place to take them? Tl: Yes, of course. There is a firework display at Campbell High School on Friday. The fireworks begin at 7.30 p.m. and will last till 10 p.m.

Woman: Can you spell the name for me, please?

Tl: Yes. surę. It's C-A-M-P-B-E-l-l High School.

Woman: Will it be possible to get some refreshments? Tl: Oh, yes, of course. There will be hot food stalls and much morę. Live musie, electronic games for the children, stalls selling local crafts and competitions. Woman: Is it free of charge?

Tl: Unfortunately, no. Adults - £5, children under 10 - £3. Woman: That's quite expensive...

Tl: Family tickets for two adults and two children are only £12 which is attractive, isn‘t it?

Woman: Yes, it is. Thank you very much.

Tl: You're welcome.
