Therapy for the trapezius, ascending part.



Starting Position: P: Lying on left side; right arm behind back. T: Standing, obliąuely facing P.

Grip: T's left hand grips lateral border and the inferior angle of P’s scapula. Ts right hand grips the acromion. coracoid process and head of humerus. Ts chest supports elbow.

Procedurę: Using this grip, T gradually and maximally moves P’s scapula in a cranial and medial direction. This produces a lateral and slightly caudal rotation of the glenoid cavity.

Stimulation of Antagonists: T moves left hand to upper medial angle of scapula. T then asks P to move further in the direction of stretching, and resists that movement with left hand to stimulate P’s antagonists.
