REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER LH
(a)
Remove the 4 screws.
(b)
Using a screwdriver,
remove the 4 clips and engine under cover.
2.
REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

Remove the 3 screws.
(b)
Using a screwdriver, remove the 3 clips and engine under cover.

REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER LH
(a)
Remove the screw and a part of the front fender liner LH.
HINT:
Remove the screw and the front fender liner LH within the range
that the front bumper cover can be removed.

REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER
(a)
Remove the 2 screws and 2 bolts.
(b)
Using a clip remover, remove the clip.
(c)
Disengage the hooks and remove the front bumper cover.
(d)
Disconnect the fog lamp connectors (on the fog lamp op-
tion only).

Disconnect the cooler thermistor connector and wire harness clips.

(a)
Remove the 15 clips and luggage compartment door cover.
2.
REMOVE REAR SPOILER SUB–ASSY
(a)
Remove the 2 nuts.
(b)
Put protective tape onto the body.
(c)
Using a heat light, heat the spoiler 40 – 60
C (104 – 140
F).
NOTICE:
Do not heat the spoiler excessively.
(d)
Tie both piano wire ends to wooden blocks or similar ob-
jects.
(1)
Scrape the adhesive tape off by pulling the piano
wire as shown in the illustration.
(2)
If reusing the rear spoiler, take care not to damage
the rear spoiler.
NOTICE:
Do not damage the body.
(e)
Disconnect the connector.
(f)
Remove the 2 clips and rear spoiler.

INSTALL REAR SPOILER SUB–ASSY

(a)
Tape the circumference of the moulding for protection.
(b)
Using a remover for the roof moulding, release the en-
gagements of the clips both in the front and rear ends of
the moulding, and then remove the roof drip side finish
moulding.
NOTICE:
Do not remove the clips.
If the clips are damaged or removed accidentally, ex-
change them for supplied ones.
2.
INSTALL ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING CLIP NO.1
NOTICE:
Only when exchanging the clips.
(a)
Remove the adhesive tape that remains on the mounting surface of the body, and then clean the sur-
face with white gasoline.
(b)
Heat up the clip installation surfaces of the body with a heat light.
Body: 40 – 60
C (104 – 140
F)
Moulding: 20 – 30
C (68 – 86
F)
NOTICE:
Do not heat the moulding excessively.
(c)
Set the supplied clips into the positions as shown in the illustration, and press–fit those clips by hand
to install them.
(d)
Install the moulding when 30 minutes or more have passed after press–fitting the clips.
HINT:
Initial hardening time: 30 minutes
Perfect hardening time: 24 hours

with a screwdriver to remove the front floor footrest.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
NOTICE:
Warm the inside of the vehicle well before removal.
(b)
Disengage the foot rest clips, and then remove the 2 clips
from the front floor footrest.

INSTALL FRONT FLOOR FOOTREST
(a)
Install the footrest clips by engaging the claws with the front floor footrest.
(b)
Before installation, check that the part to be engaged with the clips of front floor footrest is not dam-
aged.
NOTICE:
If it is damaged, replace it with a new one.

Protect the curtain shield airbag.
NOTICE:
Cover the curtain shield airbag with the protection cover as
soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.

Cover the airbag with cloth or nylon of 700 mm
(27.56 in.)
×
120 mm (4.72 in.) and fix the ends of
the cover with tape, as shown in the illustration.
(e)
Employ the same manner described above to the other
side.

Align the markings, then install the wire harness with tape.
HINT:
Be careful for dirt or foreign objects not to stick to the adhered
part when peeling the double–stick tape.

Attach the roof wire harness across the adhered part
