ABLING
1.1 D
ESIGN AND CABLING WORK
The cabling diagrams are purposed for design, selection and installation of the cables
onboard.
1.2 S
PECIAL TWISTED PAIR CABLES
The twisted pair cables needed for installation are included in Steerprop scope of
supply. (NOTE ! the cables are supplied uncut in manufacturers standard length reels.)
1.3 W
IRING AND TERMINALS
The internal wiring is wired-up to terminal strip or equal.
All terminals are spring loaded.
1.4 P
LUGS
The Steerprop propulsor and its auxiliary systems like hydraulics are equipped with
Harting type of plugs.
1.5 C
ABLE GLANDS
There are no cable glands on electronic units except on terminal boxes of propulsor
and hydraulic power unit for their internal wiring.

IRING OR CONNECTION FAILURE
Very often the failure or error is caused by
Wire breaks
Short circuits
Loose connections
Insulation wearing
of wiring or connections. These should first check and repair.
If the signals have disturbances or noise or level fluctuation, there is conducting or
radiating disturbances from other systems.
These can be corrected in the most of cases by checking and repairing of the
connection of cable screen or pair shield connections specially at connection points.
Some times helps to move the control cable further away from disturbance source or
power cable.
