Baghdad Bureau (blog) - Muntader’s Moment

Steven Lee Myers, then a traveling member of the White House press corps and now Baghdad
Correspondent of The New York Times, was at the December press conference where Iraqi
journalist Muntader al-Zaidi threw his shoes at President George W. Bush.

Mr. Zaidi appeared before a court in Baghdad for 90 minutes on Thursday morning, only to have his
trial adjourned until March 12.

In an audio report, Myers recalls that December moment and assesses its impact on Iraqis and
Americans.
