Removal

The engine coolant temperature sensor is near the thermostat.

1.

Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector

2.

Remove the engine coolant temperature sensor.

Installation

1.

Install a new washer and the engine coolant temperature sensor in the engine.

Tighten to 18-22 lb-ft (25-29N·m).

2.

Connect the sensor connector.

3.

Start the engine and check for coolant leakage.

Inspection

1.

Place the sensor in a beaker of water with a thermometer and heat the water gradually.

2.

Measure the resistance of the sensor using an ohmmeter.

3.

If resistances are not within olerance, replace the engine coolant temperature sensor.

4.

Install the sensor in the engine.

5.

Connect the sensor connector to the sensor.
