The Seven Sisters sit on the coastline of south- east England near the town of Eastbourne. These cliffs are composed of the white chalk, a type of limestone and are found on the both English and French sides of English Channel.

It was a base for the tin trade, it was also a trading and migration center in the earliest days of Christianity.

It is a stone and turf fortification built by the Roman Empire across the width of modern-day England. Hadrian's Wall was built following a visit by Roman Emperor Hadrian (AD 76-138) in AD 122. The wall, stretching from the North Sea to the Irish Sea (from the Tyne to the Solway), was 80 Roman miles (about 73 modern miles) long, 8-10 feet wide, and 15 feet high.

The British Fens, also known as the Fenland, consist of an area of former wetlands in the eastern part of England, stretching around the coast of The Wash from Lincolnshire to Norfolk. These former wetlands consisted both of alkaline peat fen and silt freshwater and salt marshes which were virtually all drained by the end of the nineteenth century.

Brighton is located on the south coast of England, and together with its immediate neighbour Hove forms the city of Brighton and Hove. Brighton is one of the largest and most famous cities by the sea in the United Kingdom.

The ancient settlement of Brighthelmston dates from before the Domesday Book (1086), but it emerged as an important health resort during the 18th century and became a popular destination for day-trippers after the arrival of the railway in 1841.

It is the first seaside resort on the south coast, there is lots of well- known buildings, including Brighton Pavilion, a palace commissioned by King George IV and famous girls' school Roedean.

York is in Northern England by the Ouse River, it was built by The Romans. It is one of Europe's most historical cities. In medieval times a stonewall was built around it, and the wall is still there. It is famous for its Cathedral with towers above. The symbol of York is a white rose.

York has some unusual museums:

26. What is West End? Discuss it briefly.

Two well-known areas of London are The West End and The East End.

West End is known for its many theatres, cinemas and expensive shops. There is: National Gallery, Piccadilly Circus, Soho, Trafalgar square, Oxford Street, Bond Street, Leicester Square, Shaftsbury Avenue, New Covent Garden.

Kensington & Knightsbridge- Harrods, Victoria's Theatre.

East End- Bethnal Green, Clothing Industry.

27. What region is East Anglia? What places are interesting there?

East Anglia is extremely flat and grassy area dominated by agriculture. There are National Parks and almost no industry. This region was very wealthy in medieval times because of the wood trade. Sheep farms, cottages were made from yellow stone. East Anglia is known as a farming region and home of agriculture.
