An English house
Not many people in England live in blocks of flats. Most of flats in English towns are not very high-they usually have three or four floors. There are some very high blocks of flats in the big cities, of course, but not very many.
Most British people live in houses: terraced houses, semi-detached houses and detached houses. An English house usually has two floors, the ground floor and the first floor. The living room, the dining room and the kitchen are usually downstairs. The bedrooms, the bathroom and the toilet are upstairs.
There is usually a small garden at the back of the house. Sometimes there is also a small garden in front of the house.
