The first winter after I moved to Wisconsin for college, I suffered from embarrassingly dry lips. I guess it was all the walking around campus in below freezing temperatures. They weren’t just dry, the skin on them peeled and flaked off all day, no matter how much lip balm I applied. Not fun! And not pretty either. I spent a small fortune trying to heal them.
This
peppermint lip scrub from The
Compassionate Chick’s Guide to DIY Beauty is
the perfect remedy for those chapped lips that plague so many of us
when the temperatures start to drop–and it’s just as effective as
all those expensive store-bought remedies. Brown sugar gently removes
dry skin, while jojoba oil moisturizes to prevent it from coming
back. The addition of peppermint oil and vanilla make this scrub good
enough to eat!
