3 ¾ mm & 4mm needles

Materials : 15”

50grams 4 ply Yarn for main colour ( m )

20grams 4 ply Yarn for contrast colour ( c )

ribbon and trimmings

3 ¾ mm & 4mm needles

2 ¾mm & 3 ¾mm needles

The pattern refers to using larger or smaller
needles. If you are knitting the 15” set use 2 ¾ mm
& 3 ¾ mm needles and if you are knitting the 19”
set use 3 ¾ mm & 4 mm needles.

Abbreviations :

k=knit , p=purl , St(s)=stitch(es) , Patt=pattern ,

rep =repeat , inc=increase , dec=decrease ,
beg=beginning , tog=together , alt-alternate ,
st=stocking stitch ( knit 1 row, purl 1 row )

Garter st=knit every row

Sl=slip , psso=pass slipped stitch over,

Yf=yarn forward,

yrn=yarn round needle ( yarn starting and finishing
at back for a knit st , yarn starting and finishing at
front for a purl st)

Yo= yarn over ( in this instance leave yarn to front
for next knit st therefore creating a st)

Pattern panel :

Row1. K2 * yrn, p1, p3tog, p1, yo, k2 rep from * to
end

Row 2. Purl

Row 3. Knit

Row 4. Purl

These 4 rows form the pattern throughout.

Bootees : make 2 the same

Using larger needles and C cast on 37sts and k 2
rows

Join in M and work 8 rows in patt

Next : ( dec row) k1, * k2 tog, rep from * to end
(19sts)

Next: p

Next: (eyelet row) join in C , k1, *yf, k2 tog, rep
from * to end

Next: p ( dec 1 stitch on this row )

Next : k

Next : p

Shape instep : k 12 turn, k6 turn,

Work on these 6 sts , st st 8 rows then break yarn

With right side facing, pick up and k 5 sts from
right side of instep, k across 6 sts on needle , pick
up and k 5 sts from left side of instep , k6 sts from
left needle. (28sts)

Knit 5 rows

Next : k1, k2 tog, ( k3, k2 tog ) 5 times

Next : k2 tog, k7, (k2 tog ) twice, k7, k2 tog. (
18sts)

Next : k

Next : k2 tog, k5 , ( k2 tog ) twice, k5, k2 tog.

Cast off

To make up : sew up seams and thread ribbon
through eyelet holes.

Hat :

Using smaller needles and C cast on 65 sts and k 4
rows

Change to larger needles and join in M

Work 16 rows in patt

Next : k , dec 1 sts along this row

Break off yarn , thread through rem sts , fasten off

To make up : sew up seam and sew on trimmings
