affair noun [count]
a sexual relationship between two people,
especially when one of them is married to someone
else:

attend verb [intransitive or transitive]
to go regularly to a place such as a school or a
church:
Born in India, he attended high school in Madras.
be in demand phrase
to be wanted by a lot of people:
The software is in demand all over the world.
brilliant adjective
very intelligent:
a brilliant scientist
cast verb [transitive]
to choose an actor for a particular part, or to
choose all the actors for a particular play, film etc:
She was always cast as a mother.
choir noun [count]
a group of singers who perform together, for
example in a church or school:
the church/cathedral/school choir
contract noun [count]
a written legal agreement between two people or
organizations:
After six months she was offered a contract of
employment.
debut noun [count]
the first time a performer or sports player appears
in public:
Easton made his debut in 2002.
divorce noun [count or uncount]
a legal way of ending a marriage:
I want a divorce.
establish verb [transitive]
to achieve success, so that people recognize your
skill, qualities, or power:
Reagan quickly established himself as a promising
film actor.
feature verb [transitive]
to be an important part or aspect of something:
She has already featured in two award -winning
films this year.
futuristic adjective
so modern that it seems to belong to the future:
the futuristic CN Tower in Toronto
give birth phrase
to produce a baby from inside your body:
She gave birth to a baby boy.
huge adjective
extremely large:
She arrived carrying two huge suitcases.
insist verb [intransitive or transitive]
to say very firmly that something must happen or
be done:
Some companies insist on staff undergoing regular
medical checks.
over adjective
used for saying that a particular event, situation, or
period of time has ended:
Moore's fourth marriage was over after only 18
months.
platinum adjective
platinum CDs, records etc are so popular that more
than 300,000 have been sold:
The group have had four platinum albums and six
gold singles.
resist verb [intransitive or transitive]
to stop yourself from doing something that you
would like to do:
It's difficult to resist a challenge like that.
retro adjective
deliberately intended to be like clothes, music etc
from the recent pas t:
retro bands
rumour noun [count or uncount]
something that people are saying that may or may
not be true:
A student had been spreading rumours about the
teachers.
stage name noun [countable]
a name used by a performer instead of their real
name
successful adjective
achieving the result that you want
