3 Axis Features

Features can be defined automatically or

interactively and are associated to the

part geometry. The 3 Axis Feature
wizard allows you to interactively create

features from model faces and surfaces.

Advanced 3 Axis Cutting Cycles

TekSoft’s Advanced 3 Axis cycles have

been developed for speed, accuracy and
efficient memory usage. Simple and

complex parts can be cut quickly and

accurately with a high quality toolpath.

Adv. 3 Axis 3D Stepover Toolpath

All Adv. 3 Axis Milling toolpaths:

Can be modified to stay contained

within an area or to avoid an area.

•

Allow contain and avoid areas to be

defined with different tool side

conditions for On, Upto and Past.

•

Allow contain and avoid areas to have
multiple areas.

Can optionally machine over the avoid

Choice of methods for calculating
automatic toolpath containment

Level II includes the Level I cycles and

the following:

Rest Machining

All Adv. 3 Axis milling operations

support rest or leftover machining.

Adv. 3 Axis Flat Area

This cycle uses a roughing pattern to

remove material on completely flat

faces.

•

Adv. 3 Axis Curve Project

This cycle removes material by

projecting 2.5 Axis Engrave or Curve

features on the 3 Axis feature.

•

Adv. 3 Axis 3D Stepover

This cycle generates a semi-finish

or finish toolpath with a true

constant stepover regardless of

the slope being machined.

Adv. 3 Axis Roughing Toolpaths

2½ Axis Milling

CAMWorks 3 Axis Milling includes 2½

Axis Milling with automatic roughing,
finishing and single point (drill, bore,

ream, tap) cycles to machine two-

dimensional features.
