affecting the Base Front Housing (0170299Z02) on GSM V220 units. Some
units, returned with customer complaints of “Antenna Loose” or “Antenna
Missing”, were found to have damage to the antenna threading on the F-Hsg.

Field Service Action

Customer Returns:
When servicing GSM V220 customer returns, with customer complaints of
“Antenna Loose” or “Antenna Missing”, then:

1. Confirm the customer complaint is related to this issue by attempting to

assemble an antenna into the housing.

2. If customer complaint is confirmed to be related to this issue, replace the

damaged 0170299Z02 Keypad Base Front Housing, with housing dated
after 11/03/2004, and reassemble the unit.

3. Customer should be informed not to remove or loosen the antenna to

ensure the defect will not reoccur.

Note: There are two different Antenna Part Numbers used on the GSM V220.
The NA model AAUG1413AA uses the 8586901P02 antenna, which is physically
longer in size and is matched for optimized performance in the NA Bands. The
transceiver also contains antenna matching components for this antenna.
All other models of V220 shipping to EMEA and Asia are matched with the
8586901P01 antenna
