Flaps RETRACTED

Doors UNLATCHED

Cabin Fire

Mixture to CUTOFF

Touch down TAIL LOW

Master switch OFF

Magnetos OFF

Magnetos OFF

Cabin heat, air, vents CLOSED

Master switch OFF

Braking MAXIMUM

Use fire extinguisher

Engine Failure - Climb

Ditching

Vents OPEN (vents only)

Airspeed to 60 KIAS

Transmit MAYDAY 121.5

Wing Fire

Mixture to CUTOFF

Squawk 7700

Navigation lights OFF

Fuel valve OFF

Passenger briefing

Strobe lights OFF

Magnetos OFF

Cargo SECURE/JETTISON

Pitot heat OFF

Flaps AS REQUIRED

Approach:

Side slip AWAY FROM FIRE

Master switch OFF

Into winds if strong

Excessive Charging

Engine Failure - In Flight

Parallel to swells otherwise Alternator OFF

Airspeed to 60 KIAS

Flaps to 30°

Non-essential electrics OFF

Carb air HOT

Descend 300 FPM 55 KIAS

Land at nearest airfield

Primer IN and LOCKED

Doors UNLATCHED

Discharging

Fuel valve ON

Cushion face

Avionics OFF

Mixture RICH

Touch down LEVEL

Master switch OFF

Magnetos BOTH or START

Evacuate aircraft

Master switch ON

Forced Landing

Engine Fire During Start

Low-voltage light CHECK

Airspeed to 65 KIAS

Cranking CONTINUE

Radios ON

Landing site SELECT

Successful Start:

If Light Illuminates:

Cause CHECK

1700 RPM for 2 minutes

Alternator OFF

Attempt restart

Shutdown and inspect

Non-essentials OFF

Transmit MAYDAY 121.5

Failed Start:

Land at nearest airfield

Squawk 7700

Continue cranking

Spin Recovery

Passenger briefing

Obtain extinguisher

Ailerons NEUTRAL

Mixture to CUTOFF

Secure Engine:

Throttle to IDLE

Fuel valve OFF

Master switch OFF

Rudder FULL OPPOSITE SPIN

Magnetos OFF

Magnetos OFF

Yoke BRISKLY FORWARD

Flaps AS REQUIRED

Fuel valve OFF

Pull out gradually

Master switch OFF

Use fire extinguisher

Carb air COLD

Doors UNLATCHED

Engine Fire In Flight

Throttle to FULL

Touch down TAIL LOW

Mixture to CUTOFF

Spiral Dive Recovery

Throttle to IDLE

Pull out gradually

Execute forced approach

Trim for LEVEL FLIGHT

Field INSPECT from 500 AGL Other switches OFF

Circuit at 1000 AGL

Cabin heat, air, vents CLOSED Approach NORMAL

Notify ATC or FSS

Radios & electrics OFF
