SUMMARIZATION

BKJ2 MODEL MARINE MASTER-SLAVE CLOCK produced in YANTAI HOROLOGY

RESEARCH INSTITUTE SHANDONG specially suit for large ship, as one time service system.

This system consists of one master and more than ten slave clocks, which are connected by signal

cables and power cables. It provides the local time and Greenwich Mean Time (or any desired time)

in parallel.

This system consists of a master clock and slave clocks. Master clock can accept standard

time signal that comes from standard time accepted and managed units, check it’s precision, check

the slave clocks at the same time.

The equipments of this system are controlled by a single piece micro-processor, automatically

and operated easily.

Standard time accepting units provide exact time signal to time system, transmit to master

clock through RS422, adjust the precision of master clock, then keep the systems running without

error.

In the master clock, its central unit (a micro-processor) and many VLSIC chips form the control

unit. It is easy to operate and able to adjust all slave clockwise or counter clockwise, with the high

reliability, it can work at different conditions. A master clock can display by finger and LED method

and realize all functions through adjusting keyboard.

The mater clock can accept standard time signal, adjust it’s precision, keep running without

error. It can transmit signal to slave clocks, adjust them. Slave clocks can run independently. For

special movements, which have feedback function, when communication with the master clock is

ok, the slave clock contrast information to which come from the master clock, run after the master

clock automatically, keep running in parallel. If not connected with the master clock, you adjust time

through keyboard. It is a checked not absolute directed relation between slave clocks and the

master click.

In the power supply of master clock, a AC power detecting circuit is designed, when AC failure

is detected, the circuit drives one relay to switch over from AC power supply to DC 24V power

supply automatically. After AC power recovery, it switches over from DC 24V to AC power supply

automatically.

Controlled by 89C51 single chip, the master clock memory data, operate coding, produce

pulse-signal, transmit to slave clocks through RS422 interface, check slave clocks. At the same

time, master clock accepts standard time from standard time accept units and check the precision

itself.

2. SLAVE CLOCK

Slave clocks rely on quartz crystal oscillator in itself, through RS422 interface, connect with

cable of master clock directly. Accepting standard time signal from master clock, slave clocks check

their precision, clear up the error automatically, display the uniform time. When they can’t accept

standard time signal, slave clocks can work depending on it’s precision.

There are “ADV” and “REV” methods in slave clock. They can chase time automatically, when

accepting standard time signal, adjust fingers to standard time in short time with the shortest

distance. When it run solely, you can adjust time through keyboard.

METHOD OF FIXING, SPAN AND ADJUSTING

1. fixing

The fixing manner of master clock is hanged or flush type. Fix the clock using fore M4 screws.

The method of BKJ2/-B2

B12 etc slave clocks are same to master clock. Fix them

using three or four screws. Refer to drawing when fixing.

BKJ2/-B3(4) slave clock are inlay type. Fix in the commodious plane, refer to the drawing when

fixing.

2. the method of connected with exterior

master clock:

Connect with antenna by Q9 BNC connector plugs, connect with slave clock by four-wire cable.

“T+” in export of master clock correspond with that in slave clock. “T-” ,

are same.

Master clock has many exports, try your best to distribute averagely. Require: Connect exactly

according to the marks.

parallel connect all slave clocks through four-wire cable. Require: Connected wire must be

absolutely right, especially power cable must be connected rightly.

OPERATION

First, check the antenna or cable is OK or NOT, and the cable between master clock with slave

clock is correct or not.

Power cable of AC220V Connect correctly, DC24V also, power switch is set to “OFF”.

Turn on total power switch , at this time neon light should be bright. Two time display windows

show info. Slave click begin to work.

At this time, if two fingers of master clock and slave clock are not on “12” o’clock, they will run

there automatically.

Adjust right key, check the communication of slave clocks.

OPERATION OF KEY AND SWITCH

1. key in master clock

Key in mater clock can be used to adjust time of master clock.

Press the “HOUR”

“MIN” key, hour

minute should be adjusted, press once, the amount of

hour and minute will increase or decrease one correspondingly. Press the “+/-” key, can

change the amount of the hour and minute increasing or decreasing. Press the “SEC” key,

second will reset to work from original position.

2. key in slave clock

Key in slave clock can be used to adjust time of slave clock.. The function of the “HOUR”

“MIN”

“+/-” key are same to which in master clock..

3. power switch in master clock

Power supply in master clock is DC24V. It is provided by two pieces of circuits, one comes from

DC24V in alternating current module, the other comes from DC24V provided by storage battery.

4. power switch in slave clock

Power supply in slave clock is same to what in master clock. It is also provided by two pieces of

circuits, one comes from DC24V in alternating current module, the other comes from DC24V

provided by storage battery.
