Remote card reader BC18 01-08
Introduction
The BC18 is a magnetic card reader for use with BEWACARD and
BEWAPASS/ENTRO. The BC18 is mainly for indoor mounting. Outdoor mounting
may need a weatherproof cover SH1 and an additional heater plate VS18.
Installation
Mechanical installation
Fasten the reader to the wall by using the two screw holes on the reader. Mount the
reader at a height of 120 - 140 cm (from the floor to the bottom edge of the reader).
Electrical installation
The BC18 is complete with 3 metres of connecting cable. When extending the cable,
always use a screened multicore cable. The BC18 can be connected directly to the
central unit when only a single reader operation is required at any one door.
When two reader operations at any one door a Bewator Multibox must be used.
Maximum cable distance between BC18 and the control unit is 50 metres.
Notes
" Use only screened cables.
" Connect the cable screen in case of long distances or disturbing environment.
" Connect the screen directly to an earth ground, do not connect the screen to
the 0 volts.
" Avoid installing the cable near mains cabling, minimum distance 20 cm.
