KT Method
Fascia in the Gluteus Muscle to the Lateral Thigh
Movie for broad-band (300kbps)
Patient position: side-lying with hips
flexed to 30 degrees
Apply the base of the Kinesio Tex to
the apex of the iliac crest.
Stabilize the base of the Kinesio Tex
and apply downward pressure to
increase tissue tension.
Extend the hip to neutral and fully
extend the knee.
Stabilize the base of the Kinesio Tex
and apply downward pressure to
increase tissue tension.
Apply the Kinesio Tex over the
iliotibial band to Gerdy s Tubercle on
the tibia.
Maximally flex the hip and knee.
Apply the base of the second strip of
Kinesio Tex just posterior to the first
piece.
Stabilize the base of the Kinesio Tex
and apply downward pressure to
increase tissue tension.
Apply the Kinesio Tex to the contour
of the gluteus maximus to attach to
the greater trochanter of the hip.
Completed Kinesio Tex application:
gluteus maximus-iliotibial fascia
