iliac spine (ASIS), and deep surface of the
fascia lata
Insertion
iliotibial tract of fascia lata at the junction
of the proximal and middle thirds of the
thigh
Actions
Flexes, medially (nternally) rotates, and
abducts the hip joint; tenses the fascia
lata; posterolateral fibers may assist in
knee extension and knee stabilization

Superior gluteal nerve
