Harmful gases known as greenhouse gases cause the greenhouse effect. These gases are produced when we burn fuels, coal. These gases go up into the Earth's atmosphere and stop heat from leaving the Earth. Because the heat cannot escape, the Earth is getting warmer. This is a global warming. Global warming may cause the ice at the North and South Pole to melt and sea levels to rise. In other places temperatures will rise and there will be less rain, the land turn into desert. When we want to save the Earth we should recycle. Glass, cans, paper, and plastic, so that we could use it again. Good way to save the Earth is alternative energy. We can use sun's energy in solar power, wind power in modern windmills, water power in hydroelectric power. Renewable energy is much cleaner than oil and coal.
