Would you like to run a marathon?
Ask four or five of the following questions.
How often do you go shopping?
What kind of things do you buy?
Where do you go shopping? What are your favourite shops?
What do you spend most money on when you go shopping?
Do you like shopping online?
Would you describe yourself as a `fashion victim'? Why/Why not?
Do you prefer to buy clothes with friends or alone?
What is your favourite item of clothing?
Part 2
I want you to look at some statements. Choose three of them and we will have a discussion.
Genetic engineering is the solution to the world's food problems.
Organic food is expensive, and a waste of money.
It is now too late to do anything about global warming.
The minimum wage is bad for business.
Animal conservation is not a very important issue.
You shouldn't give money to homeless people. They just spend it on drugs.
You have one minute to think about what you are going to say. Here are some phrases to help you. [Hand over sheet to student.]
