1. T writes following phrases on the board: a romantic place, a romantic date. Ss have 2 minutes to work in pairs and write as many examples of each thing as they can say. T writes examples on the board and keeps them for later.

2. T tells Ss to look at the chat quickly and say what it is about. Ss read the chat and tick the correct names. T asks them to compare answers with a partner.

4. Grammar in use: Present perfect. T writes on the board: I have written one or two poems. She hasn't fallen in love with anybody famous. T reminds Ss:

- this tense is called the present perfect

- we use it to talk about general life experiences

- we form the present perfect with have or has + past participle

Ss copy the verbs and give their past simple and past participle.

- to give controlled practice of the tense

5. Ss complete the Grammar Box. Check the answers as a class. Ss complete the sentences and compare answers in pairs. Check the answers as a class.

6. Present perfect (questions). T explains:

- we use have you ever + past participle to ask about a person's general life experience

- the short answer forms of the present perfect are Yes, I have and No, I haven't.
