pat troubleshooting

Your PAT DS 350 Load Moment Indicator (LMI) monitors the crane operations, giving the crane operator in the cab continuous readings on a digital LCD of the crane's movements and conditions as it makes the lift. The operator receives information including the boom angle and length and the total weight lifted by the crane. The LMI also warns the crane operator of dangerous conditions, sounding alarms and flashing a warning light. To ensure safety, operating and troubleshooting the LMI should be done only after the crane operator thoroughly learns and understands how the crane operates as well as the LMI limitations.

Instructions

Telescope the boom to the proper length outlined in the load capacity chart if you see error code E05 on the LCD console. Error code E05 represents a prohibited length range, meaning the boom was either telescoped too far out or not far enough. The boom projects from the crane to support weights. Every crane has a load capacity chart, which shows how its lift capacity changes depending on the angle and distance. Making a mistake in load capacity can cause accidents.

Luff up the boom to an angle outlined in the load capacity chart if you see an error E02 displayed on the LMI console. This error occurs from exceeding the minimum angle or maximum radius in the load capacity chart from luffing the boom down too far. Luffing means raising or lowering the outer end of the crane's boom when you need to shift a load.

Locate the "Set Operating Mode" button labeled "Sel" on the row of buttons under the LMI display screen and press "Sel" to start the LMI manually if you see an error E04 on the LMI console, meaning the operating mode switch was set incorrectly. Use the function keys configured for the crane to answer the questions that appear. The computer will guide you step-by-step while you set up configurations for the boom, hoist and more. You must be completely familiar with the system operation and the crane in order to enter the settings and values, which must be correct; otherwise, the crane and the system will not function properly.
