Table of Contents
How to Use This Template
Start with saving this file as a different name (the title of your book) and in a place on your computer where you can access it easily.
To use this template simply replace the text you see here with yours. Make sure that the headings use the heading style and the levels (look in toolbar above to see what they are). When you are done make a right click on the Table of Contents and choose 'update'.
You will need to edit the footer domain name twice - once on the Table of Contents page and once on this page.
Don't make any changes directly in the Table of Contents... after you have edited the book content make a right click over the gray area of the above Table of Contents and choose 'update'. The links will be clickable when saved as a pdf file too.
Section 1: The Vision or Desired Outcome
Here you want to show them the end result that they will achieve by reading your book. You don't need to go into too much detail, but do create a clear picture of what 'success' looks like when their problem is solved. It will start the book on a positive, uplifting note and encourage the reader to continue. It will also help them feel they have made the right decision in purchasing your book.
Section 2: The Problem and the Solution
Overview of the Problem and the Solution
Define the problem - what problems are people facing when they try to achieve the desired outcome (stated above)?
What are the roadblocks and obstacles?
Section 3: Introduction to Your Solution.
Tips and advice on how to use this book. How should the reader use this book to get the result they want. What tips and ideas can you provide that will help speed up the process and make things easier?
Section 4: The Solution
What are the steps or actions (in sequence) that the reader will take to solve this problem? This is where you go through each step or action in detail and it will make up the bulk of your book (it should be at least 70%). If necessary or appropriate, each step could be its own chapter or section.
Section 5: Conclusion.
Remind the reader of the vision and the results they will get if they follow the steps in your solution.
Section 6: Call to Action
Give the reader a place to start. Say something such as, “The very first thing to do now is.......”
Also provide encouragement - remind the reader that they really can get the result they want by using the information in your book.
