Postacie z wełny do szopki bozonarodzeniowej

Szopka bożonarodzeniowa

Niewielkim kosztem można przygotować wraz z dziećmi proste i efektowne figurki do szopki bożonarodzeniowej. Potrzebne są przede wszystkim resztki grubszych włóczek, druciki pokryte aksamitnym tworzywem, dostępne w sklepach z artykułami plastycznymi, nawiasem mówiąc bardzo przydatne w pracach manualnych i plastycznych.

Instructions

  1. The People:

Fold a pipe cleaner in half and twist the folded end into a ¼-inch stem.

  2. Cut the hair yarn into 9-inch strands (5 to 8 strands for a female, 2 to 4 for a male). Center the strands in the V below the stem and twist the pipe cleaner to secure them.

  3. Make another twist 1 inch below the hair, then open it into a loop to form the head and neck.

  4. Twist the center of a second pipe cleaner around the neck, weaving in one end of an unrolled cotton ball. Fold in the pipe cleaner ends to form arms and twist them to secure.

  5. Wrap the head with cotton. Pass the cotton through the space under the neck and wrap the body. Add cotton as needed. Tip: Don't wrap the legs too close together.

  6. Cut the brown pipe cleaner to about 8 inches and form a stand as shown. Twist the tip of each leg around the stand.

  7. Tie the center of the skin-colored yarn around the neck and wrap, double-thick, to the stem and back. If necessary, add glue as you wrap to secure the yarn.

  8. To finish, loop the yarn around the neck, knot it, and pull to shape the neck. Trim the ends and tuck them under at the back. Press the stem all the way down. Tie one end of the clothing-colored yarn around an ankle, then wrap the body, doubling back as needed to cover the cotton.

  9. Wrap the chest, continue down one arm to about ¾ inch from the end, and wrap back to the neck. Repeat on the other arm, then loop the yarn around the neck and knot, trim, and tuck it as you did for the head. To make eyes, cut the sequin in half and glue in place.

  10. Baby Jesus

Instructions

  1. Fold a pipe cleaner in half and twist the folded end to form a head stem, as you did with the adult figures.

  2. Twist the pipe cleaners about ¾ inch down to make a head loop, and 1 inch below that for a body loop. Trim the ends and twist for a foot stem.

  3. Wrap the head and body with unrolled cotton.

  4. Tie the center of the skin-colored yarn around the neck and wrap, double-thick, up to the head stem and back (glue if needed). Tie at the neck as with the adults. Fold down the head and foot stems.

  5. Tie one end of the blanket yarn around the neck. Wrap the body and head as shown. Use glue if needed. Tie off the yarn at the neck, trim it, and tuck in the ends. To make eyes, cut the sequin in half and glue in place.

Instructions

  1. To make the roof, cut apart the edge of the lid at each corner.

  2. Cut off one long edge. Flatten both short edges and place masking tape as shown and on the reverse side. Cut in at the center of the remaining long edge. Use a ruler or table edge to bend the lid in half at that point. Tape together the halves of the edge to hold the fold in place. Tape a paper clip to the roof as shown. This will hold the star or angel.

  3. Cut the paper twist into lengths to cover the box and roof. Untwist and flatten each. Glue the strips to the box inside and out. Cover the roof, letting the strips extend over the edges.

  4. Attach the roof with masking tape, allowing an overhang in front.

Instructions

  1. Cut a cardboard tube to a length slightly longer than your Baby Jesus. Next, cut it in half lengthwise. Trim an inch off the end of one half for the base.

  2. Trim the base so it's narrower than the cradle. Staple together the pieces as shown, then bend down the cradle sides. Fill the bottom of the cradle (and later, the stable) with moss.

Instructions

  1. The Sheep:

Fold one pipe cleaner in half. Bend it to form a nose and ears. Twist the ends to secure.

  2. Bend the folded pipe cleaner to form a ½-inch-long neck, a 1-inch body, and a tail (trim it to about ½ inch). Cut the second pipe cleaner in half. Wrap each piece around the body to create legs. Fold the ends up so each leg is about ¾ inch long.

  3. Twist one end of an unrolled cotton ball into the base of the tail and wrap the body.

  4. Tie one end of the yarn around the neck and wrap as shown, covering the cotton. To finish, knot the yarn over itself at the tail, trim, and tuck the end under the wrapping.

  5. The Calf:

Create the same basic form as the sheep, but make the body and nose longer, use two 6-inch pieces for the legs, and bend each leg to form hooves.

  6. Starting at the tail, wrap unrolled cotton balls around the body and once down the length of the nose.

  7. Tie the yarn around the neck. Wrap the head, leaving the cotton tip of the nose and the tips of the ears exposed. Glue as needed.

  8. Wrap the body and the legs, stopping at the hooves. Wrap extra layers around the back legs to create bulky haunches. Finish by wrapping the tail. Knot it tightly just before the tip, trim to 1 inch, and unravel the end.

  9. Use the marker to add tiny nostrils. To add eyes, cut the sequin in half and glue in place

Instructions

  1. Follow the first 4 steps of the
    directions for making people.

  2. Then separate the legs to form an A shape and bend the tip of each into a foot. Wrap cotton around the head and body, making it thicker at the wrists to create flared sleeves and filling out the A shape at the bottom of the robe.

  3. Maintaining the A shape and flared sleeves, wrap the yarn for the head and robe according to the people directions (but keep the head stem up). Slip one end of an iridescent pipe cleaner through the stem loop and twist it back on itself. Fold down the stem and follow the steps for the female hairstyle, covering the stem.

  4. Form the pipe cleaner into a halo. Trim the end and twist it back on itself to secure. Save the excess pipe cleaner.

  5. Use 1 iridescent pipe cleaner to shape each wing, leaving about 1 inch at the bottom and twisting each loop in place to secure.

  6. Twist together the 1-inch ends to join the left and right wings. Fold the ends into an upside-down U to create a hook. Use the pipe cleaner left over from the halo to create a belt, twisting the ends around the angel's waist and the wings to hold the wings in place. Use a dab of glue to secure the wings to the back if needed. To make eyes, cut the sequin in half and glue in place. Hang the angel from the paper clip on the stable roof.

  1. Male Hairstyle, Beard, and Mustache:
If you'd like a fuller look, unravel all of the hair strands, as shown on the right side.

  3. To finish the hair, cut a 9-inch strand of hair yarn and glue it around the crown of the head. Trim if needed. To create a beard/mustache, cut a 4-inch piece of hair yarn and fold and glue it in place.

  4. Female Hairstyle:
Spread glue on each temple and press down the front strands of hair. Spread the rest of the hair evenly across the back of the head, covering the head stem.

  5. Cut two 9-inch strands of hair. Apply glue around the forehead. Press the strands over the glue and tie them in back. Arrange the hair and dab glue under and on the knot to hold it in place. Let the glue dry. Trim as desired.
