We eat all sorts of food. There are three main food types:

There are another four types of products which we get with food:

Proteins Building and repairing cells Beans, fish and dairy products
Fat Energy and for cells membranes Dairy products, vegetable and animal oils
Roughage Add bulk to food to help digestion Fruit, cereals, vegetables, beans
Water fills cells up and dissolves chemicals Any beverage or soft drink, water, in food etc.
Carbohydrate Used for energy Bread, sweets, vegetables, pasta, rice, fruits, etc.
Minerals Calcium- healthy bones, iron for blood In a variety of foods such as meat, dairy, fruits,etc.
Vitamins Used to make enzymes in small amounts Small amounts found in fresh fruit, vegetables, cereal, etc.
