Must, mustn’t – wyrażenia obowiązku i zakazu

Formy must (musieć) używamy:

• Dla wyrażenia obowiązku np. You must clean your room

• Dla wyrażenia rady np. you must see your doctor

Formy mustn’t (nie wolno) używamy:

• Dla wyrażenia zakazu, szczególnie mówiąc o przepisach. Np. students mustn’t wear make –up at school.

• Dla wyrażenia silnej sugestii np. you really mustn’t worry about him. He’s fine.

UWAGA!

Forma mustn’t oznacza nie wolno, a nie nie musieć. Na pytanie Must I… ? („czy muszę”) odpowiadamy No, you needn’t.

Zdania twierdzące:

Jeżeli zastępujemy czasownik must formą to have to do sth. To musimy pamiętać, że w odmienny sposób będą wówczas powstawały pytania oraz przeczenia.
