Situation: You came to London a month ago to study English. Write a letter to your parents telling them about the course you are taking and some of the difficulties you have encountered.
Dear Mum and Dad,
I was glad to hear that everything is fine with you. I'm sorry I haven't written for a month. I've had a hectic time trying to enroll in an English course and I had some difficulties. That course will help prepare me for an exam, after which I'll be able to get a well-paid job.
First, there was a problem with commuting to school. At the beginning I lived in the suburbs of London and it was too far to get to school in time. I could be late for the classes every day or simply move out to another place. I was sitting on the fence, but fortunately a friend of mine asked me to live with her.
However, the course had already started and I had missed a few classes. I didn't know it would result so negatively for me. The headmaster warned me of deleting me from the list of students in case of my next missed lesson. I managed to explain myself and promised it would never happen again.
That's all for now. I must study for tomorrow's test. Pass my kisses to grandparents.
Best wishes and Love,
Marta
