Stitching Notes

Approiimate design area 13.5 ins x 9.3 ins (34.5cms x 23.5cm$)

This design was originally stitched on 14-count white Aida but can also be stitched on 27/28 count Evenweave over 2x2 threads

The 4 smali arrows appearing at the edge of the chart are to enable you to centre the design on your fabric

Cross-stitch is used for the details on the cats, and the border Two strands of thread should be used in the colour for each symbol as shown in the key above. There are some half-stitches used in the cat’s ears Here a diagonal linę appears the square with the appropriate symbol behind it

In the Blackwork pan of the design the thickcr dark lines, usually outlines should be stitched in 2 strands of DMC 310, while the thinner lines showing the infill design in the background should be stitched in 1 strand of DMC 310 The only exception to this are the downcast eyes of the Black and White cat in the middle, which should be stitched in 3 strands

When finished please weave in all loose threads carefully into the back of the work. as otherwise thcy will show through the fabric when framed
