MATERIALS: DMC Cebelia #20 (50 gm, 405 yds each bali): 1 bali makes many. Crochet hook size 10 U.S. (1.3 Continental) (51/2 U.K.). Double-faced satin ribbon (1/8 in. [4 mm] wide): 36 in. (90 cm) red; 18 in. (45 cm) green. Two 10 mm jingle bells. For blocking: Fabric stiffener. Rust* proof pins. Plastic wrap. Piece of thick cardboard.
MEASUREMENTS: 2 in. (5 cm) high.
STITCHES USED: Chain st (ch). Slip st (sl st). Single crochet (sc). Double crochet (dc). Shell: • (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same space •. Picot: • Ch 3, sc in last dc madę
NOTĘ: Always start with ch 3 instead of first dc of rnd. End with 1 sl st in first sc or third (dc) ch at beg of rnd.
DIRECTIONS: Ch 4 and close into a ring with 1 sl st in first ch. Rnd 1:12 dc in ring. Rnd 2: (Dc, ch 1) in each dc around (12 spaces). Rnd 3: Sl st to first space, Shell in each space around. Rnds 4-5: Sl st to space of first Shell, shell in space of each Shell around. Rnd 6: Sl st to space of first

Rnd 10: Rep Rnd 4. Rnd 11: Sl st to space of first shell, • (dc, picot, dc, picot, dc, picot, dc) in space of shell, sc bet shells •, rep from • to • around. Fasten off.
Clapper: Make a Chain 40 ch sts long. Fasten off. Thread Chain through top of jingle beli and knot ends.
Finishing: Cover cardboard with plastic wrap. Saturate beli with fabric stiffener. Squeeze out excess. Stuff beli firmly with plastic wrap. Pin picots at bottom of beli evenly to cardboard. Allow to dry. Remove plastic wrap. Weave red ribbon through spaces in Rnd 6 of beli and tie in bow. Trim excess. Weave green ribbon through spaces in Rnd 8 of beli and tie in bow. Trim excess. Hanging Loop: Cut a piece of red ribbon 6 in. (75 cm) long. Puli the ribbon through the Chain on top of jingle beli. Insert crochet hook down through the top starting ring of beli to inside and puli ribbon ends through catching the Chain loop in the ribbon loop. Make an overhand knot in ribbon ends to fasten.
