Side door
A typical Roman town house. Grouped round the atrium were bed-rooms. sitting-rooms and a dining-room (tricljnium). Sometimes the front rooms were used as shops. Round the peristylium were grouped other rooms that included the main dining-room (used in summer). kitchen and /avatory.
Various smali rooms were used for storage. The tablinum served as a link between atrium and peristylium and coii/d be c/osed by a curtain.
