NOTĘ: Fi om 1988 the positions of guide pulley and tensioner pulley weie interchanged.

1.    Ensure timing marks aligned [2] & [3].

2.    Rock crankshaft slightly to ensure timing pin located correctly.

3.    Fit timing belt. starting at crankshaft sprocket. Align marks on belt with marks on sprockets.

4.    Set tension gauge to 13 units.

5.    Attach tension gauge to belt at^[6].

6.    Slacken tensioner nut [5].

7.    1988: Tum tensioner pulley until tension is correct, with mark on plunger flush with bottom of handle.

8.    Tighten tensioner nut to 40 Wm [5].

9.    1988    : Screw an M6 bolt into timing belt rear cover [7],

10.    Screw in M6 bolt until belt tension is correct.

11.    Tighten tensioner nut to 40 Wm [5].

12.    Remove:

o M6 bolt. o Tension gauge.

Ali models:

13.    13. Ensure timing marks aligned [2] & [3].

14.    Remove timing pin [4].

15.    Tum crankshaft two turns clockwise. Ensure timing marks aligned [2] & [3],

16.    Insert timing pin. Recheck belt tension.

17.    Remove timing pin. Fit blanking pług.

18.    Install components in reverse order of removal.
