Picots are crocheted ftom right to Icfr. For a picoi. you work a single crochet inu> the knitted piece, then make 3 cham stitches and 1 single crochet into the First cham Mitch, and rhen 1 single crocher into the knitted piece agam. Fot every single crochet that ts worked into the knitted piece, skip approximateły 2 rows or 1 stitch. dcpendlng on the gauge.
For the picots of this crocheted edge, a double crochet is worked into rhe ftrst chain stitch. instead of a single crochet. Since this mnke> the picot longer, skip approximatcly 3 rows of the knitted piece each tirne.
Double crochet: Bnng the yani around the crochet hook ffom back to front. Bring it through the fitst single crochet of the picot, put the yarn around the hook agam. and puli u through the 2 loops on the hook.
Picots look equally good on lengthwise or crosswise edges.
