Gaugc: The 44 ^t with the widc cables (pocket width) arc 7" widc. In
on 122 st and work in ribbing lor lVi" (rhe First row of the patiem chart). The row on \VS slarts with sclv st, pl. In last row on WS (secottd row in yellow), mc 44 st purl rwisted .o shown (166 st).

When the piece is 18" long, bmd off 3 st 2x, 2 st 2x, I st 5x, every other row. then I sr I x after 4 rows, on hotli sides, for the artnholes =

When rhe piece is 2S?»" long, bind off the center 24 st, then 5 st !x and 3 st 1 x. every other row, on both sides, for the neckiine.
Put the stitches for the shouldcrs on a holder and bind them off lalcr by knirring them together with the stitches of the front parts. Work firndy.

When rhe piece is 9V5" long, 17 sr in from the side edge, pul the ttoxt 44 st on a holder for the pocket opcnlng (sec also patiem chatt). Cist on 34 st tor rhe inside pocket and work in stockinctte stitch for 6", then contm-mc in partem for 2". inereasing 10 st (44 st).
When rhe piece is 8" long. join the stitch into the work and continue working the entire from. (The pocket is shown in detail on page 95.) When the piece is I lVi long, stan binding otf 1 sr nery fourth row on the righr edge for the neckiine by purling the last 2 >t bcforc the sclv st togctltcr.
At the same time, when rhc piece is 18" long. work the unnhole at the leli edge the same way as for the hack. Knit the shoulder stitches together with the shoulder stitches of rhe buck part. RS on RS. and bind off firmly.
