It was raining cats and dogs
and little fishes! “Guess I’ll go
right back to bed,” she grumbled.
But Mommy said:
“It’s only an April shower
that won’t last long.
There’s just time enough
to make something WONDERFUL
—like ice-cream flower pots!
1
Our new custard cups can be the flower pots
and we have ice cream in the freezer.”
Betsy had fun filling the cups to the very top.
She put them back
into the freezer to keep.
When the sun came out she rode down to the storę on her bike and bought chocolate shot to sprinkle on the ice cream for make-believe earth.
Just before desserttime she picked three flowers, wrapped their stems in foil, and stuck them into the ice-cream pots.
