Strontium Aluminate Kigid Strip LLL System
I his system comprises of an aluminum carrier extrusion and rigid photoluminescent insert panels, olTcring a quick and easy installation combined with ruggcd and durablc quality. The carrier otTcrs a 75mm visiblc width of photoluminescent materiał. The photoluminescent performance of the rigid panels is eertified by Lloyds Register as exeeeding 1MO requirements when charged with less than 30 I.ux from a flourescent source.
Installation is simple. The carrier is Iixcd to the bulkhead by countersunk screws. the heads bcing covcrcd by the photoluminescent panels which arc simply slipped into the extrusion. Intcmal and extcmal comers, and drops up and down stairways, arc easily madę by mitreing the extrusion and cutting the photoluminescent panels to suit. LLL signs below should be used to give direction indication.

Low Location Lighting Signs
A rangę of signs sized to fit the system above. The signs arc printed on elear, hcavy duty vinyl which allows the photoluminescent LLL strip to shinc through. highlighting the printed symbol.
Photoluminescent Stair Nosing
This PVC extrusion is probably the best method of highlighting slairs along an escapc route when electrical power is lost. Once installed using an acrylic or similar adhesive. these nosings olfer a permanent and durablc non-slip linish

Regulations:
Chaptcr II-2. Regulatton 4l-l & 41-2. rcquires that ships carrying morę than 36 passengers shall he fitted with Low Location l ighting if built after Ist October 1994. Ifbuilt before lst October 1994. LLL should have been fitted by Lst October I997. Resolution A.752( 18> details system rcquirements and testing procedurcs.
Installation:
Ali eseape routes. including slairs. musi be marked by LLL. Where a photoluminescent materia! is used this must be a minimum of 75mm wide, positioned no higher than 3(K)mm from deck level. Where stairs or corridors are morę than 2m wide, LLL strips should be provided on both sides. Stairs should havc the top and bottom clearly identified. Deatl end’ passages should be marked with arrows spaccd no morę than I m apart to direct peoplc away from the dcad end. The photoluminescent strip should he run up vertically to the handle of each door which forms part of the eseape route. ’Exif signs should be providcd at each cxit, locatcd on the same side as the door handle. Fire and watertight doors should hc marked to show how the door opens . Ali photoluminescent materiał must produce at least 15 mcd, m 10 mins. after rcmoval of external light sources. and at least 2 med/nf after 60 mins. when tested in situ. Ihe installcr should ensure that sufficient light is avai labie to activate the photoluminescent materiał to attain this performance. Systems should have their luminescenee tested at least oncc cvery 5 years.
