General Information ____——

Amn Pneumodrus (APV) is a pathogen of chickens and turkeys that can produce respiratory signs and reproductwe failures as a primary paihogen, or as part of a multiagent syndrome known as Swollen Head Syndrome (SUS). Vinis isolation of APV is a difficult task, so diagnosis through seroiogy is one of the most important toofs for cfcease control. This test is intended for quantitative monitoring chicken and turkey ftocks that have been wcdnated with !ive and/or inactwated products containing A. B or C antigens, as wełl as naive (SPF) flocks for the detection of infected btrds with any A. B or C serotypeof APV.

Descriptions and Princlples_____________

This assay is designed to measure the rełatwe levei of antibody to APV in chicken and turkey serum. Viral antigen is coated on 96-weti ptates. Upon incubaOon of the test sampte in the coated wełl, antibody specific to APV forms a comptex witti the coated viral antigens. After washing away unbound materiał from the wells, a conjugate is added that binds to any attached chicken and turkey antibody in the wełfe. Unbound conjugate is washed away and enzyme substrate is added. Subsequent color devełopment is directfy rełated to the amount of antibody to APV present in the test sampte.
