The Conference met for five sessions associated with several excur-sions into areas covered by geomorphological maps on the scalę of 1 : 50,000 (Kraków Region, Upper Silesian Industrial District, Bieszczady Mtns, Tatra Mtns, Lower Vistula Valley, morainic plateaus in the vicinity of Chełmno and Dobrzyń). Geomorphological problems of the areas visited during the excursions were demonstrated on the example of the Detailed Geomorphological Map of Poland’. Furthermore, the local plann-ing and urban authorities considered the importance of this detailed geomorphological map for practical purposes (the regional plans for development of Greater Kraków and of the Bieszczady Mtns.).

K. Dziewoński, as well as Professor M. Klimaszewski, Presi-dent of the Subcommission on Geomorphological Mapping, and Professor J. Tricart, President of the Commission on Applied Geomorphology IGU, who gave adresses of welcome. The following lectures were presented in the auli auditorium of the Institute of Geography, Jagiello-nian University, Kraków:

Participants also visited the exhibition of ‘geomorphological maps’ constructed in 14 countries.
4 May. Following an adress of welcome given by Mr. Z. S k o 1 i c-k i, the Mayor of Kraków, 20 geomorphological maps and geomorpho-logical-improvement maps of the Kraków region and its surrounding zonę on the scalę of 1 : 25,000 were presented by Miss M. Tyczyńska and
