Persuasion is a process, not a single event. Working out a mutual standpoint at the first attempt happens very rarely. If we want to persuade in an effective way, all crucial stages of persuasion should be foreseen in advance:
• presenting our own standpoint,
• listening to the other party,
• modification of our own argumentation according to the way other party thinks,
• introduction of changes and the presentation of modified standpoint,
• agreement.
