•lis with a diamond burr (Fig 24). Next, drill a fairly deep hole for the pupil using a burr, enlarging it as equired. The iris can be taken up under the top lid.

The face must now be sanded, starting with 80 grit and working through to 240. Do not start with a finer Ä…rit or you wi II end up with tool marks showing on the â€¢ nished surface.

Thereare many finishes that can be used. I find that

•    ax polish can easily clog up details on smali scalÄ™

•    ark, and I usually use a satin picture varnish from a fpray can.
