Figs 80 and 81 show the face of aggression in which every muscle seems to be tense — even the platysma of the neck (known as the harp strings). The whole structure of the face is changed and the meaning is quile unequivocal. The teeth are bared 'eady for fighting and the face contorted to frighten the enemy. Great care must be taken carving a face ke this or it will look ridiculous, particularly the :eeth which must be accurately and precisely cut, "ot left like a row of tombstones.
