Do określenia kata pochylenia (X) wybrać należy najpierw metode obróbki (kierunek obróbki do wrzeciona = trójkąt prawy, kierunek obróbki do konika = trójkąt lewy w powyższej tabeli). Punkt z przecięcia średnicy gwintu i skoku daje uzupełniająca cyfrę, która trzeba dodać do oznaczenia podkładki.
Ten wyróżnik cyfrowy odpowiada katowi pochylenia, np. GX16-3 = (X) 3 Przykład:
Gwint jednokrotny zewnętrzny, kierunek obróbki do wrzeciona, 0=50 mm, skok P=podziałka = 1,5 mm, gwint wg ISO. Płytka wymienna 16ER1.5ISO, oprawka CER...16Q, podkładka GX1£-1.
