MATERIALS: 4-ply yarn—2 ozs. It. beige. 1‘A ozs. dk. brown; embroidery floss—black. pink; one 12" dk. brown chonille storn; craft whiskers; 30" of ribbon; 15-mm. blue cat eyos; gluo; polyester fiberfill; embroidery and tapestry needles; G hook or size need-ed to obtain gauge.

GAUGE: 4 hdc - 1"; 3 hdc rows = 1".

HEAD

Rnd 1: Wlth lt. beige. ch 3. sl st in first ch to form ring. ch 2.9 hdc in ring, join with sl st in top of ch 2 (10).

Rnd 2: Ch 2. hdc in same st, 2 hdc in each st around, join as before (20).

Rnd 3: Ch 2, 2 hdc in next st, (hdc in each of next 2 sts. 2 hdc in next st) around, join (27).

Rnd 4: Ch 2, (hdc in next 8 sts, 2 hdc in next st) 2 times, hdc in next 7 sts, 2 hdc in next st. join (30).

Rnds 5-8: Ch 2, hdc in each st around, join.

Rnd 9: Ch 2, (hdc next 2 sts tog) 14 times. hdc in next st. join (16).

Rnd 10: Ch 2. hdc in each st around, join.

Rnd 11: Ch 2, hdc in same st, (hdc in next 4 sts, 2 hdc in next st) 3 times. join (20). I,eaving 12" for sewing, fasten off.

BODY

Rnds 1-8: With lt. beige. repeat rnds 1-8 of head.

Rnd 9: Ch 2. hdc in same st. hdc in next 4 sts. (2 hdc in next st, hdc in next 4 sts) around. join (36).

Rnds 10-13: Ch 2. hdc in each st around, join.

Rnd 14: Ch 2. hdc in each of next 3 sts, hdc next 2 sts tog. (hdc in next 4 sts. hdc next 2 sts tog) around. join (30).

Rnds 15-18: Ch 2. hdc in each st around. join.

Rnds 19-20: Ch 2, (hdc 2 sts tog) around with hdc in last st, join (16. 9). I,eaving 10" for sewing. fasten off. Stuff body. Sew opening closed.

FACE

NOTĘ: Do not join rnds unless otherwise stated. Mark first st of each rnd.

Rnd 1: With dk. brown, ch 2. 4 sc in 2nd ch from hook (4).

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around (8).

Rnd 3: (2 sc in next st, sc in next st) around (12).

Rnd 4: (Sc in euch of next 3 sts. 2 sc in next st) around (15).

Rnd 5: Sc in each of next 3 sts, hdc in next st. dc in next st. ch 3, sl st in 3rd ch from hook: to make first eyo opening. ch 3, skip next st, hdc in next st. sc in next st, hdc in next st; ch 6. sl st in 3rd ch from hook. skip next st, dc in next st. hdc in next st. sc in each of next 3 sts. join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off.

Row 6: Join dk. brown with sl st in first ch of first eye opening. sc in next ch, hdc in next ch. dc in noxt st. ch 2, sl st in 2nd ch from hook. 2 dc in ncxt st. ch 2. sl st in 2nd ch from hook. dc in next st. hdc in noxt ch, sc in next ch. sl st in next ch. Fasten off.

Stuff head. Glue eyes %" apart be-tween rnds 5 and 6. Stuff muzzle of face. Sew on front of head, fitting eye openings around eyes.

With black floss. embroidor noso in a triangle shape and mouth lines under noso along lower sido of face. With pink. embroider mouth in a smali triangle iust inside mouth lines.

Position head with front covering rnd 1 and back covoring rnd 3 of body; sew in place, making head tilt slightly.
