AIR CLEANER

AIR CLEANER ELEMENT REMOVAL

♦    Remove the seat.

♦    Remove the air cleaner box lid.

♦    Removethe wing nut ©.

♦    Remove the element (2) from the element holder.

WASHING

•    Fili a washing pan large enough to hołd the element with a non-flammable cleaning solvent ®. Immerse the element in the solvent and wash it.

•    Squeeze the element by grasping it to remove excess sol-vent. Do not twist or wring the element or it will develop cracks.

•    Dry the element in a plastic bag, pour in some toam filter.óil ..(§) and work the oil into the element.

•    Sgueeze the element to remove excess oil.\

INSTALLATION

♦ Apply grease to the element ;base where it .dontactś the air cleaner box.

Fit the element onto the elemeht holder >

NOTĘ:    v„.--

Fit the projection of the element holder (3) in the hole of the element base <2).

* Install them in the air cleaner box by engaging the projection ® of the element holder with the hole © of the cleaner body.

CAUTION

Improper element installation allows dust and dirt to enter the combustion chamber. It can result in piston and cylinder wear.

Be surę to check the element seals properly after installing the elements.
