AlignmenŁ

There are ten possiblc polilical alignments. li is easier lor a Group to control or neutraiize Groups with similar alignments, and to destmy those of opposite alignments. Sonie cards have one alignrnent. sonie have several. and a few have nonę. Meanings of the alignments, for the purpos-es of this gamę. are:

Gavenwteiu - An ann of the l'.S. government; its opposite is Comnumist.

Each player sturts with one of the eight llluminati cards; each is dilTęrerit and has its own special ahilities. In this exam-ple. the llluminati control thnee Groups direetly: the Demoerats, the Gongressional Wives, and the South American Na/is. The South American Nazis control iwo Groups: the KGB and the Cycle Gangs. The Demoerats control one Group: the Anliwar Activists.



Commmist - lnspired by the Soviets or Chinese or Albanii ans or somebody: its opposite is Gwerunienl Liberał - Poliliadly *‘left.” wliaiever that means; its opposite is Con.servative.

Conser\>ati\e - Usually mad ai the Liberals: its opposite is Liberał.

Peaceful - Philosopbically opposed to the use of force: its opposite is Violent.

Viblent - Armed arid/or dangerous; not neccssarily vieious: its opposite is Peaceful.

Straight - Socially middle-of-tbe-road; Middle American: its opposite is Weird.

Weird - Peculiar. offbcat. notably different front the neigh hors: its opposite i-. Straight.

Criminal - F.storting money t rom citizens through force or threat, and/or breaking the law professionally. there is no opposite.

Fanaric - Adhering to a limited system of beliefs m deftance of all others; any two Fanatic Groups are considered "opposite’' to each other.

The Groups

The basie elements of llluminati are the Group cards. ranging from the llluminati ihemsebes to the Yuppies and the Boy Sprotits. (Any resemblance to real tirganizations is Imrely satirical in naturę, i Each Group has ccrtain charac-teristics. See Figurę 3 below.


Power

The Power number shown on the card is a measure of its ability to dominate other Groups. The higher the number. the greater the Power, ff a Group has tu o numbers l fur example: 7/4). the firsl number is its regular Power and the second represents Ihe portion of that Power whiclr can be used to assist another Group in an attack (Transferable Power).
