Speak and write
9 Divide the class in half.
One group can name some important sights in their town. The other group can list transport methods and discuss which is the best way to get around. If it is possible, make pairs with one from each side, to plan a tourist leaflet like the text in Exercise 2.

7 a 1.46 Ask Ss to suggest measurements for the classroom/desks/board/a local pool. Ask them What are we talking about? (measurements). Ss can listen and repeat the words then work in pairs to match the adjectives and nouns they describe.
BACKGROUND NOTĘ
While the UK has had a metric system of measurement sińce the early 70s many British people are morę familiar with the old imperial system of feet/inches etc. and you will frequently see this used.
Point out to Ss that while some words are used for pecole/things (big,old) others are not (high = tali).
