The jets and settings of the otherwise unchanged Solex carburetor 32 PDSIT for the 1.6 liter engine have been adapted to the increased cubic capacity.

Both carburetors are equipped with electro-magnetic cut off valves.
The identical fuel pump with diaphragm valve already described under Type 1 is fitted with a plastic cap which is secured by a spring clip in Type 3.
The borę of the twin carburetor engine has been increased from 83 mm (3.27") to 85.5 mm (3.37") and the capacity to 1584 cc (96.66 cu.in.). The increased torque of 12 mkg (87 ft Ibs) now covers a wider revolution rangę. The fiat torque curve improves the flexibility of the engine. The compression ratio which has been lowered to 7.7 :1 reduces the octane requirements to 90.
Ali 1.5 and 1.6 liter engines have been altered like the Transporter engine as described on page 14 under points b to e.
The transmission has been improved as in Types 1 and 2.
